Collin Gosselin Reacts to Dad Jon Gosselin Marrying Stephanie Lebo
Collin Gosselin couldn’t have been happier to witness his dad, Jon Gosselin, marry Stephanie Lebo.
“When my dad first told me he was getting married, I was very happy for him, and my first thought was that he deserves this,” Collin, 21, told Entertainment Tonight at the wedding on Sunday, November 23. “As does everybody who finds their person, but I think with everything he’s been through, it just highlighted it even more for me that he’s really deserving of this.”
Jon, 48, married Lebo, 38, at The Barn at Silverstone in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in front of 180 guests, including Collin and his sextuplet sister Hannah, as well as Lebo’s daughter, Juliana.
Collin, who served as a groomsman in the wedding, added that he felt a “sense of happiness and freedom” for his father.
“I guess he hasn’t really had it easy in the past, so it’s nice to see this,” he continued.
Collin said he cried during the ceremony, especially when Jon read his vows, in which he told his bride that he was the “luckiest man in the world” and promised to love Juliana like his own daughter.
However, it wasn’t just the beauty of the vows that made Collin emotional.
“The thing about this day that I’ll remember forever is looking around and seeing all these people who were gathered together, and I guess just realizing the significance in those who have stuck around for [my dad]. I think there is a different weight to this wedding than your traditional wedding just because of all the trials and tribulations,” he continued. “That’s what I was thinking of today. I was like, ‘Wow, this feels more monumental for me, and it’s not my wedding,’ because when I looked at my dad, I saw all the hard things he’s been through with marriage, with everything. For me, I saw all of these things just kind of floating away.”
Collin continued, “And that’s something I won’t ever forget. It wasn’t just tears of, ‘Oh, they’re getting married.’ It was me seeing the past and then looking in this moment and realizing just how freeing this is for him and how much he deserves this.”
Before tying the knot with Lebo, Jon was married to ex-wife Kate Gosselin from 1999 to 2009, as documented on their TLC reality series, Jon & Kate Plus 8 (known as Kate Plus 8 after the divorce). The exes share Hannah, Collin and their sextuplet siblings, Aaden, Leah, Joel and Alexis, as well as twin sisters Mady and Cara, 25.
Jon gained custody of Collin and Hannah following his messy divorce from Kate and became estranged from his remaining six children. However, told ET in December 2024 that he planned to invite all of his kids to his wedding.
“I would definitely do that,” Jon told the outlet. “I would definitely send an invite to all of them. You know, they are my kids.”
Collin told ET on Sunday that it was “really nice” to see Hannah at the wedding.
“I think despite any differences or ways we see things, I think today kind of signified the fact that we both love our father and we both understand how much he deserves this,” he said.
Collin added that it “would have been really nice” to see his other siblings at the wedding.
“I love them and hope they know that we would have loved to see them here, and I hope they understand how important marriage is … and how happy it made me and Hannah to see our dad get married today,” Collin concluded. “I think, overall, everybody deserves to find their person, everybody deserves to find love, and the past is the past and the future is the future. I think that’s the cool thing about a wedding is it really represents that.”
