Ciara’s Fall Sweater Dressing Formula Is a Study in Proportions
Ciara’s fall sweater dressing formula is simple: the shorter the dress, the taller the boots.
Such as the case on Monday, October 28, when the singer stepped out in New York City in a look that seemed all but made for transitional weather.
Ciara, 39, put on a leggy display in a chocolate-brown knit turtleneck minidress and platform boots that highlighted her toned legs.
The street style statement was a study in perfect proportions, as her skirt hit at just the right place to give photographers a glimpse at her sculpted limbs while still feeling seasonally appropriate.
While her boots were also stacked with a sizable platform, , she eschewed a thigh-high silhouette in favor of a shorter mid-calf style that gave her room to play with a skimpier hemline on her skirt, which featured a slight cutout for an extra-flattering element and ease with every step.
While the dress hugged her curves in all the right places, it also came with voluminous, billowing sleeves that made a body-conscious design that much more figure-flattering (not to mention, wearable).
Ciara’s footwear was finished with a sleek pointed toe, adding polish to her relatively casual sweater dress. A stacked heel, meanwhile, moved the look into day-to-night territory.
She embraced the transitional weather above the neck as well, by donning honey-blonde strands styled with just enough bend. Her finger-tousled hair was ideal for daytime while her brow-grazing bangs will inspire others to skip their next trim at the salon.
But perhaps the real game changer was her impeccably moisturized limbs, which Ciara clearly has been putting work into perfecting outside the gym with a good body cream at night. All the better for showing off one’s goodies with a super short skirt and very tall boots for daytime hours.
