Celebrities React to Meghan Markle’s Netflix Show: Meghan McCain, More

Meghan Markle has officially announced the release date for her forthcoming Netflix series With Love, Meghan and tons of stars are speaking out about the show.

“I have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it,” Markle, 43, captioned an Instagram video on Thursday, January 2. “Wishing you all a fantastic new year! Thanks to our amazing crew and the team @netflix. Beyond grateful for the support — and fun!”

Netflix dropped the trailer for Markle’s highly anticipated series on Thursday, announcing that it’s set to premiere later this month. The show will feature the Duchess of Sussex (and maybe her husband, Prince Harry) along with some of her famous friends, a few of whom already reacted to the show via social media.

While it seems that Markle has garnered a positive response to her upcoming series, not everyone is happy with what’s to come.

Abigail Spencer

Markle’s longtime friend and former Suits costar — who will make some appearances in the show — was quick to share the With Love, Meghan trailer via Instagram.

“So elated for you @meghan! Happy New Year & 20twentythrive indeed! How lucky are we to get a glimpse into your heart-song, magical-thoughtfulness & deliciously-wonderful ways January 15th!” the actress wrote via Instagram Stories. “Can’t wait for all to fall in love with #WithLoveMeghan. Thanks for having me over & being truly the most wonderful friend a gal could get. Joy & bubbles abound. Here to learn. I’ll get the salt.”

Jamie Kern Lima

The podcast host praised the series and revealed that she celebrated the news with Markle, sharing a selfie with the Duchess of Sussex.

“I’m so excited for the world to experience even more of your joy, your heart, your kindness, your humor, your humility, your compassion, your many talents and your LOVE!” Kern captioned her post. “You’re an incredible friend to so many, including me, and I’m excited to cheer you on as you continue to build, create magic and FLY!”

Meghan McCain

While Markle’s friends were fully on board with the show, McCain was not.

“I was originally a Meghan Markle supporter, I thought she was cool, stylish and refreshing,” she shared via X, noting that her “opinion changed” after Markle and Harry left the royal family in 2020. McCain reposted the With Love, Meghan trailer and called it an “ill advised” move.

“All of this even in the trailer is highly curated, produced and out of touch,” she wrote, noting that America is in a period of “uncertainty” at the moment. “I would have told her to do a show helping bring fresh food to food deserts in low income neighborhoods. Do something to help people instead of your ego.”

The fashion designer shared the trailer on her Instagram Story, writing that she was “so excited” for Markle.

Delfina Blaquier

The wife of Harry’s BFF Nacho Figueras was quick to show her support as well.

“Congrats for the love and hard work you put into this project of yours!” she captioned an Instagram Story post. “So grateful to be a part of it — I can’t wait to see all you have to share.”
