‘Catwoman’ Jocelyn Wildenstein Filmed a Reality Show Before Death: Report

Jocelyn Wildenstein, the socialite famously known as the “Catwoman,” filmed a reality television show before her death,  TMZ reports.

Wildenstein died Tuesday, December 31, in Paris at the age of 84, her partner, Lloyd Klein, said.

On Wednesday, January 1, after news of her death broke, TMZ reported that Wildenstein filmed a reality project last year, citing production sources, though noted that the show has yet to land a deal with a network.

According to the outlet, the show centered around Wildenstein moving from her home in Miami to Los Angeles and Klein’s attempts to relaunch his fashion brand, Lloyd Klein Couture. The show is said to be different from an HBO docuseries that Wildenstein first mentioned in a June 2023 interview with the U.K.’s Sunday Times.

Hollywood mourned many celebrities in 2024, including Shannen Doherty and Liam Payne. Us Weekly confirmed Doherty’s death on July 14. The Beverly Hills, 90210 star first battled breast cancer from 2015 to 2017, sharing nearly three years later that it had returned. In 2023, Doherty shared that her stage 4 breast cancer had spread to […]

On Wednesday, Klein told AFP that the Swiss socialite died in Paris while staying in a luxury hotel after suffering a pulmonary embolism. A pulmonary embolism is a blood clot that “blocks and stops blood flow” to an artery in the lung, per the Mayo Clinic.

An “icon is gone,” Klein told the outlet, noting he is in “pain” over the loss of Wildenstein.

Before her death, Wildenstein (born Jocelyne Périsset) made headlines for her extreme plastic surgery that made her resemble a feline. The work led to her being dubbed “Catwoman.”

After her first surgery in the late ’70s, fans began comparing Wildenstein’s eye lift to that of a lynx, which she had as a pet.

Wildenstein was also known for her marriage to billionaire art dealer Alec Wildenstein. The two wed in 1978 and divorced in 1999. Their split and legal battle was heavily covered by the media.

Alec told Vanity Fair at the time of their split that he had no say in how much surgery his wife had, despite reports that he encouraged her to change her appearance.

“She was crazy. I would always find out last,” he alleged, according to The Times. “She was thinking that she could fix her face like a piece of furniture. Skin does not work that way. But she wouldn’t listen.”

Jocelyn told The Times in June 2023 that Alec “hired a publicist and paid a plastic surgeon to certify that I completely changed my face” so he could “win the divorce.”

Wildenstein is survived by her and Alec’s children, son Alec Jr. and daughter Diane.
