Brynn Whitfield’s Ex Gideon Has a Surprising Connection to RHOBH
When giving an update on her potential motherhood journey, The Real Housewives of New York City star Brynn Whitfield revealed her ex Gideon Lang-Laddie has a surprising crossover Bravo connection.
“Those discussions [about having a baby] are on ice,” Whitfield, 38, said during her Tuesday, December 3, appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. “The eggs are on ice. Froze my eggs. And then everyone was telling me you need to do embryos because it’s more feasible.”
Whitfield later added, “Gideon works with Mauricio [Umansky] at The Agency. They are all over the place, those boys.”
Umansky owns global real estate brokerage The Agency and was married to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards for 27 years. Us Weekly confirmed in July 2023 that Umansky and Richards separated.
Whitfield opened up about her desire to be a mom during a November episode of RHONY.
“When you get in your late 30s, the pool is much smaller. All the good ones are taken. It seems like there were more eligible, nice, kind men available in like [your] 20s,” Whitfield said in a confessional. “I feel like Carrie Bradshaw, who made the biggest mistake of her life not marrying Aidan.”
Whitfield told costar Rebecca Minkoff that she wished she had considered having a baby earlier.
“Do you know what my biggest regret is? All the times that I took Plan B with dudes like hot, smart, IPO-ing, billionaires. Why did I take Plan B?” Whitfield quipped. “Maybe I’m 30, but I know I’m going to be a mom. Dude, I’ve gone through nine days of egg-freezing. I’m f—ing injecting myself. I’m a bloated f—ing blueberry walking around. I look crazy.”
Whitfield explained that she froze her eggs in London in January. “So I froze them there, I was very lucky,” she said. “I got 15 eggs. I’m glad that I did this. It was on my mind more than I thought.”
Whitfield went on to talk to Lang-Laddie and asked him whether he would consider being a sperm donor.
“Well I was thinking, you know, crazy idea. What if we took some of those eggs out of the freezer and then made an embryo with your sperm?” Whitfield said.“I’m serious about this. I know I’m laughing, but it’s because I get nervous. I’m not saying I want to do the baby thing yet, I’m just like, ‘Do you want to make an embryo?’”
Lang-Laddie admitted that he’s on-board. “I love the idea,” he said. “Hand on heart, love the idea. I think you would make an incredible mother. I’ve always thought that.”
Whitfield explained that she was ready to welcome a child soon. “So look, I’m 38 now. I want to have a kid at least by 40. So if I want to do that, then I think it needs to happen Q1 2025,” she said.
The Real Housewives of New York City airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
