Blake Lively Says She’s ‘Fortunate’ to Work With A Simple Favor 2 Cast

Blake Lively is feeling gratitude for her fellow Another Simple Favor cast members.

“Final Austin roundup for @asimplefavor 🤠,” Lively, 37, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, March 12. “I know how fortunate I am to work with each of you. Thank you to my friends and loved ones for making this weekend so special. Ok. Back to sweatpants now. That was fun. ☺️.”

Lively shared a series of snaps alongside her message, including one of her and costar Michele Morrone playing ping pong and another of her looks from the press tour. In one image, Lively and costar Anna Kendrick walked on stage at the SXSW premiere of Another Simple Favor.

In a final image, Lively posed with her hand on her hip while wearing paper bags on her feet — which she called a “mom hack.” (Lively shares four children with husband Ryan Reynolds.)

Blake Lively spoke in public for the first time amid her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni. “I love this character so much. It’s probably my favorite character I’ve ever been fortunate enough to play,” Lively, 37, said of her latest role while attending the SXSW premiere of Another Simple Favor on Friday, March 7, […]

“Barton Springs Park Bathroom. Your kid forgets their shoes, but you have yours on. So naturally, you given [sic] them yours. Then you mom hack … Paper bags. No shoes, No problem,” she wrote over the photo, adding check marks to each line.

While promoting the film at SXSW on Friday, March 7, Lively spoke in public for the first time since her ongoing legal battle with It Ends With Us costar and director Justin Baldoni.

“I love this character so much. It’s probably my favorite character I’ve ever been fortunate enough to play,” Lively said of her latest role, per Page Six. “So when Paul [Feig] asked us to come back, I was so excited.”

Lively recalled being “really nervous” filming A Simple Favor, which was released in 2018, because “we didn’t know if we were making a drama or a comedy.” Lively claimed that when they asked Feig about the genre, he told them, “yes,” which she quipped was “not really an answer to the question.”

“But it worked out, so I was like, ‘OK, no nerves. I know what I’m doing this time,’” she continued. “Right before we started shooting, he said, ‘I have, like, a little bit of a curveball idea.’ Which, I’m not going to say what it was, because, you know, we don’t want to give away anything. But it definitely, you know, upped the ante. It was very uncomfortable to watch in this theater with you all. … But yeah, it was fun, it’s always fun. Getting to work with Anna again, obviously, and this incredible group of people, is amazing.”

Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024, accusing him of sexual harassment and
allegedly launching a “social manipulation” campaign against her to destroy her reputation. Baldoni denied the accusations and filed his own lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds and her publicist in January, citing defamation among other claims. (Lively and Reynolds denied the allegations.) A trial date for the ongoing legal battle is set for March 2026.

Lively’s legal drama was a topic at the SXSW premiere, with Kendrick dodging questions about how Another Simple Favor has been “impacted” by what’s “going on in the world.” In response, Kendrick deadpanned to Variety, “Why? What happened? I did ayahuasca and the last year of my life has been gone. But I hear the movie is amazing.”
