Blake Lively Gives Her Shoe Uniform a ‘Wizard of Oz’ Makeover

Blake Lively is just the latest in a long line of celebrities to celebrate their Wicked fandom. When the actress attended a special screening on Tuesday, December 3, at Metrograph in New York City, she dressed the part by giving her signature red-bottom heels a Wizard of Oz makeover.

When Lively, 37, posed for photos outside the theater with the film’s lead actors, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, she wore glittering Mary Janes with a stacked heel. Coupled with pastel blue ankle socks, the shoes were a pitch-perfect match for Dorothy’s red ruby slippers. They may not have been her trademark Christian Louboutins, but they were nothing short of dazzling.

She cuffed the hem of her jeans to show off her statement accessories, which she paired with a white menswear-inspired blazer. Underneath was a Chanel button-down with folksy floral embroidery that would have looked right at home in Oz, even for the French fashion label.

The detail also turned up on her vintage Chanel purse, a Camellia flap bag with a crochet finish and red-and-blue floral appliqués. You don’t need a green thumb to know that Lively chose the design because the florals were reminiscent of poppies, which play a big role in the film.

Amy Sussman/Getty Images Ariana Grande’s Wicked press tour glam is entirely achievable at home, no magic spells required. Grande’s official r.e.m. Beauty account took to Instagram on Tuesday, December 3, to share the beauty secrets behind her press tour makeup. Starting off with her Sydney, Australia look, Grande, 31, relied on her Galinda Glow Drops […]

She wore no shortage of spellbinding bijoux either with various emerald rings on nearly every finger. Above the neck, she wore gold statement earrings with not ruby but coral gemstones. Her glam was also Glinda-fied, from her glossy pink lips to her pearlescent highlighter.

It may have been a coincidence, but we’d be willing to wager that Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds — with whom she shares three children, James, 9, Inez, 8, and Betty, 5 — was also inspired to channel the original 1939 film.

Dressed in a lo-fi tan corduroy suit over a simple white T-shirt, the look recalled the Scarecrow. When in Kansas!
