Bilt Rewards Introduces Points Program For Home Purchases

Bilt Rewards is expanding its pioneering rewards program for renters by allowing Bilt Members to earn Bilt Points when purchasing a home through an eXp Realty agent, amounting to potentially hundreds of thousands of Bilt Points redeemable for travel, fitness classes, and more.

The first-of-its-kind program awards one Bilt Point for every $2 of a home’s purchase price, meaning a $400,000 home purchase could earn up to 200,000 valuable Bilt Points.

“Americans receive rewards for everyday purchases, but have never been properly rewarded for the largest purchase they will make in their lifetime. Bilt pioneered Bilt Points on rent payments to give members something back on their biggest monthly expense. Now, we’re going to reward them when they buy a home — their largest lifetime purchase,” said Ankur Jain, Founder and CEO of Bilt Rewards. “This is part of our broader mission to make the path to homeownership more accessible and rewarding for our members.”

Bilt Rewards began by renters transition to homeownership as one of the largest free sources of rent reporting. Bilt reports rent payments to all three major credit bureaus, helping members boost their credit history and earn points along the way. Renters can monitor their credit score and track their progress toward mortgage qualification through Bilt’s app.

Bilt’s “Buy a Home” tool simplifies how renters approach buying a home, showing available homes based on best estimates of an all-in monthly payment — rather than using a complex mortgage calculator — allowing renters to easily compare the monthly cost of homeownership to their current rent.

The personalized tool converts listed home prices to transparent estimates of monthly payments that include costs like property taxes and insurance; factors in a member’s actual financial profile to determine indicative rates and mortgage types across FHA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and NQM lenders; various downpayment scenarios and to incur added savings by applying Bilt Points toward a down payment; and showing available homes across different cities based on monthly payment.

“The path to homeownership seems distant to American renters, but for many, homeownership is closer than they realize. Most home search tools start with a purchase price and expect buyers to figure out complex mortgage calculations on their own. Bilt now makes it surprisingly easy by simplifying the home search to include an all-in monthly mortgage price so consumers can now see how far their monthly rental payment could go toward owning a home,” said Bilt Board Member and former Fannie Mae CEO Tim Mayopoulos. “It’s about making homeownership feel achievable and transparent.”

Bilt has partnered with eXp Realty to extend the points-earning benefit to members who are purchasing a home. When members work with an eXp agent to find their dream home, they’ll earn one point for every $2 of their home’s purchase price.

“At eXp Realty, we’re committed to empowering homebuyers with innovative solutions that make the journey to homeownership more accessible and rewarding,” said Leo Pareja, CEO of eXp Realty. “Our strategic relationship with Bilt enhances this commitment by providing homebuyers the ability to earn significant rewards while making the most important purchase of their lives. This collaboration not only simplifies the homebuying process but also brings unprecedented value to the table, helping more people turn their dream of owning a home into a reality. Together, we’re creating a future where homebuyers are rewarded for every step they take on the path to homeownership.”

The new partnership furthers Bilt’s mission to support renters at every stage of their housing journey. Anyone can become a Bilt Member, and sign-up is free.
