Below Deck’s Aesha Scott Explains Why Captain Jason Isn’t Invited to Wedding

Aesha Scott is well aware that Below Deck fans want to know why Captain Jason Chambers isn’t invited to her wedding.

“[I’m] getting married [to my fiancé Scott Dobson] in March of next year. Everything is planned,” Aesha, 33, exclusively told Us Weekly while attending BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas on Friday, November 14.

Aesha is finalizing the guest list, which she previously confirmed doesn’t include Jason.

“Everyone keeps asking. I’ve been doing this for seven years. I’ve got so many friends in Bravo,” she noted. “We get on really well but I can’t invite every single person I get on with.”

As soon as you step foot on a Below Deck Mediterranean charter yacht, you’re guaranteed one thing: a whole lot of drama. Throughout its Bravo run, crew members like Captain Sandy Yawn, Hannah Ferrier, Malia White and more have been know to butt heads with each other — all with the purpose of delivering a […]

Aesha previously revealed who did — and didn’t — get an invite.

“There’s too many to name [who I invited],” Aesha said on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in July 2024 before immediately naming Captain Sandy Yawn. In addition to her boss, Aesha name-dropped Joe Bradley and Nathan Gallagher from season 9 of Below Deck Mediterranean as well.

Aesha also mentioned Tzarina Mace-Ralph, who worked with her on season 2 of Below Deck Down Under. When it came to people who won’t be in attendance, Aesha only brought up infamous Below Deck Med chef Mila Kolomeitseva — for now.

More recently, the chief stew confirmed Jason was on the list of Below Deck alums who aren’t attending her special day, sharing on an October episode of WWHL, “I just called [Jason] one day, and I said, ‘Hey, just so you know, you’re not coming to the wedding.’”

Aesha pointed out that she didn’t appreciate how people compare her relationship with Jason to her relationship with her future husband.

“I also don’t think it’s respectful because so many people would come up to me and be like, ‘Oh, we like Scott, but I really wish you were with Jason,’” she revealed. “I’ve got Hannah [Ferrier] and her husband coming, Anastasia [Surmava] and her husband, Sandy and [her wife] Leah [Rae Yawn], and Nathan and Gael [Cameron]. And then a lot of people on the back end, too, in the production end.”

Aesha joined Below Deck Med in 2019 during season 4, working as a second stew under Hannah Ferrier’s reign. She became the chief stew alongside Captain Jason Chambers on Below Deck Down Under for the first two seasons of the spinoff from 2022 to 2023, before returning to her Below Deck Med roots as the chief stew.

Aesha isn’t the only one to tie the knot in the franchise recently. Sandy exchanged vows with Leah in May 2024. The nuptials featured some familiar faces from Below Deck as well, including Aesha, Kate Chastain, executive producer Nadine Rajabi and Vice President of Current Production for Bravo Josh Brown.

Below Deck Med airs on Bravo Mondays at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
