Antony Starr’s ‘Jaw Hit the Floor’ When Reading The Boys Final Scripts

Antony Starr teased he already knows what’s in store for the final season of The Boys.

“I’m six episodes deep and I know what happens. I know where it ends up, and I love it,” Starr, 49, said on the Monday, March 31, episode of the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast. “I think it’s great. I think it’s challenging in a good way.”

Starr hinted that season 5, which will drop next year, is “very challenging for the characters” in addition to the viewers at home.

“I think it’ll be challenging for the audience in a good way and unexpected. True to form, this show has never done what it thinks is the right thing or what it should,” he explained. “It’s not adhered to any formula — it does its own thing.”

The actor shared that like The Boys has done in the past it will conclude in a similar manner.

“I think it finishes up like that. It is in its own lane and it continues down that lane,” he added. “So yeah, I’m happy with it. I love it.”

Starr gave props to the series writer, Eric Kripke, who he referred to as the “crazy genius behind the whole thing.”

“I’ve got a lot of faith in [Kripke] and whilst, you know, I read it and my jaw hit the floor,” Starr said. “I have a lot of faith in him now as well so I think it’s going to be good.”

Starr has been on The Boys since its 2019 premiere. The actor portrays Homelander who is the strong leader of The Seven. While the character is viewed by the public as a noble hero, his persona behind closed doors is the opposite as he does not care about the wellbeing of those he was sworn to protect.

In addition to Starr, The Boys features a star-studded ensemble cast including Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie and Claudia Doumit.
