Ali Wong and Bill Hader Make Red Carpet Debut at 2025 DGAs

Ali Wong and Bill Hader are red carpet official!

After nearly two years together, Wong, 42, and Hader, 46, posed together on the red carpet for the first time at the 2025 Directors Guild of America Awards on Saturday, February 8.

Wong sizzled in a neutral-colored Iris van Herpen gown while Hader opted for a classic black suit with a bowtie. As they posed on the red carpet, Hader sweetly rested a hand on his girlfriend’s midsection and beamed.

Wong’s Netflix comedy special Ali Wong: Single Lady was up for Best Variety/Talk/News/Sports — Specials but ultimately lost to Beth McCarthy-Miller’s The Roast of Tom Brady.

Bill Hader and Ali Wong are a match made in comedy heaven. Hader and Wong were both married to other people before they were first linked in 2022. Hader wed director Maggie Carey in 2006 and welcomed three daughters: Hayley, Hannah and Harper. News broke in 2017 that the pair had split after more than […]

Wong and Hader were first linked in late 2022 before breaking up several months later. By April 2023, Us Weekly confirmed that they had reconciled.

Since their reunion, Hader supported Wong at the likes of the 2024 Golden Globes and 2024 Critics Choice Awards when she was up for respective trophies for Netflix’s Beef. While they didn’t walk the carpet together at the time, she often kissed him mid-show after winning accolades and thanked him in her speeches.

“We’re very selectively private,” Wong said at the Emmys in January 2024. “I mean, we’ve been together for a minute, so it’s like, I guess people didn’t know we were together. It’s just also like, we’re both, like, in our 40s and parents.”

Wong shares two daughters with ex-husband Justin Hakuta, while Hader coparents three daughters with ex-wife Maggie Carey.

Fresh off the Emmys, a source exclusively told Us that Hader and Wong had been working toward blending their families.

“They have a really strong foundation,” the insider told Us. “Friends know that they’re going to go the distance — they’re both at ease and [obsessed] with each other at the same time.”

Bill Hader and Ali Wong‘s relationship has only gotten more serious since they went public. “They have a really strong foundation,” a source exclusively reveals in the newest issue of Us Weekly about the couple’s future plans. According to the insider, marriage is “very much on the table” for Hader, 45, and Wong, 41. “Friends […]

As mentioned in Ali Wong: Single Lady, Wong met Hader after separating from Hakuta, now 42, in 2022.

“I did not expect the announcement to be so widespread, but by far the hardest part about getting divorced was my mother’s reaction,” Wong previously told The Hollywood Reporter in February 2023 of the breakup. “I had told her before that I thought we might get divorced, and she was really upset.”

Wong added, “[My mom] looked me in the eye and asked, ‘Can you just wait until I die?’ She was literally asking me to not live a life for myself. But she’s 82, what do I expect? She hasn’t had her period in 40 years. She’s in the sha-ha-hallows of senior citizenship. But it was still really f—ing hard dealing with all her fear of the shame it would bring her.”

Wong and Hakua finalized their divorce in May 2024 and still remain on amicable terms.

“We’re really close. We’re really good friends [and] when I say that, I really mean it,” Wong said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in March 2023, noting she would be “fine” if Hakuta met a date while he worked as her tour manager. “I don’t know, I haven’t thought about that.”
