Kimora Lee Simmons’ Daughters Confront Her Over 2024 ‘Cute’ Mugshot
Kimora Lee Simmons isn’t afraid to address any topics with her daughters.
In Us Weekly’s exclusive sneak peek of the Tuesday, December 9, episode of E!’s Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane, the fashion designer and model is confronted by her daughters, Ming Lee Simmons and Aoki Lee Simmons, about a 2004 mugshot that just won’t go away.
“She got pulled over with paraphernalia in her car,” Ming, 25, claims in the sneak peek. “Did you or not have weed in your car?”
Without missing a beat, Kimora, 50, tries to clear things up and denies any drugs were involved.
“They called it eluding,” she explains. “I got pulled over for nothing. I didn’t care. I wasn’t pulling over and I wasn’t stopping right here for you.”
Aoki, 23, however, appears to not be buying the entire story.
“Was the crime the running or the weed?” she asks.
Kimora responds, “Eluding is running away but I wasn’t running away at 5 mph. I was one of the first people to smile and make a cute mugshot. Before that, nobody was smiling in their mugshot. I don’t know what to tell you.”
According to CNN, police officers attempted to stop the Baby Phat founder for minor motor vehicle violations. According to police, Kimora “didn’t slow down or stop for police who had their lights and sirens on and used their public announcement system to ask her to pull over.”
Police later arrested Kimora after she eventually stopped outside her house. Officers discovered “a small amount of marijuana” in her car.
Kimora agreed to serve six months of probation stemming from a case that her attorney described at the time as “an unfortunate incident.”
“Kimora and her family are stellar citizens of Saddle River,” Kimora’s attorney Brian Neary previously said in a statement to NBC News. “They are glad this is behind them.”
When revisiting her mugshot in 2025, Kimora still remembers vivid details about how she was processed in jail.
“I was like, ‘Oh my God, you guys are going to take a picture?’ and I remember standing my butt up on that bench and there was a little corner mirror so that they could see everything,” she shares in the sneak peek. “I stood up on that thing and I tried to get my [face ready]. I saw a lot of good mugshots after that.”
Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane marks the supermodel’s highly anticipated return to reality TV. Previously, Kimora starred in Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane, which aired on the Style Network from 2007 to 2011.
During a recent appearance on the Today show, Kimora was asked why now was the best time for her to dive back into the world of reality TV.
“God only knows,” she told Jenna Bush Hager with a laugh before talking about her family. “We like torture and punishment. I don’t know. … We’re all very close. The kids are still at home with me.”
Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane airs on E! Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET.
