Tammy and Amy Slaton’s Feud Takes Center Stage in ‘1000-Lb. Sisters’ Trailer
Tammy and Amy Slaton’s sibling bond certainly doesn’t appear to be as strong as it once was.
On Tuesday, December 2, TLC released the official season 8 trailer for 1000-Lb. Sisters. In the shocking sneak peek, the show’s biggest stars appear to have some animosity toward one another as they document their unpredictable lives for the cameras.
“It feels like we’re drifting apart,” Tammy shares in a confessional interview about her sister Amy. “She used to be my best friend.”
While there appear to be many reasons behind the rift, it certainly didn’t help when Tammy allegedly called her sister a deadbeat mom.
“I can’t handle her toxic ass no more,” Amy says while trying to hold back tears. “I’m done.”
When Amy and Tammy’s brother, Chris Combs, tries to be a mediator and bring the sisters together, it proves to be far more difficult than he first imagined.
“Every other word is an F-bomb,” he says about the family group chat. “Beep, beep, beep, you beep, beep, beep ass.’”
In a separate scene, Tammy tells her brother, “If Amy keeps her mouth shut, so would I.”
Despite some family tension, season 8 of 1000-Lb. Sisters promises to still be filled with plenty of love.
As Tammy embraces life after her 500-lb. weight loss and skin removal surgery, she continues to explore a new relationship with Andrea Dalton. She also goes on a job interview in hopes of finding a new passion.
“Kinda wonder if she’s gonna ask me to marry her,” she says in the sneak peek clip after hanging out with Andrea.
Meanwhile, Amy is planning her dream wedding to boyfriend Brian Lovvorn with a surprise twist.
“The wedding is like, in six months. It’s really important for the venue to be haunted because that’s a symbol of our love,” she says. “My family, they don’t want nothing to do with it and neither does Queen Tammy.”
Back in May, viewers watched Brian propose on 1000-Lb. Sisters inside a haunted house in Henderson, Kentucky. When the episode aired, TLC revealed the proposal took place during the 2024 winter season, or five months after the couple started dating.
“Originally, he slipped a green apple Ring Pop on my finger while I was asleep, about two weeks into our relationship,” Amy previously told People. “I was shocked at first, and I said yes but only if the real proposal was in a haunted house on Halloween.”
In her interview, Amy also revealed that her sister “really felt like we were rushing it.” (The couple ultimately got married on Halloween night at Talbott Tavern in Bardstown, Kentucky.)
Regardless of what caused Tammy and Amy’s tension, Chris is hopeful that his siblings can work it out. Amy, however, may have other ideas.
“I’m not going to have you feed me this bologna when I don’t like bologna,” she tells her brother after he tries to bring the sisters together.
1000-Lb. Sisters returns to TLC on Tuesday, January 6, at 9 p.m. ET.
