7 New Movies to Watch This Weekend on Netflix, Prime Video and More (November 28-30)

New York City bartender Hank (Austin Butler) is a good friend. That’s why he agrees to cat-sit neighbor Russ’ (Matt Smith) pet feline, Bud, while he travels to London to visit his sick father. But when two Russian mobsters come looking for a mysterious key that he doesn’t know anything about, trouble ensues, with Hank quickly running out of time — and vital organs — to find it. With the aid of his girlfriend, Yvonne (Zoë Kravitz), Hank has to find the key, evade both the cops and the mafia and somehow still show up to work so he can pay his rent.

A late summer box office disappointment, Caught Stealing is one of those movies destined to be a cult classic in the near future. Directed by Darren Aronofsky, the film balances comedy and action well, with some healthy doses of off-the-wall comedy thrown in for good measure. The stacked cast, which includes Regina Hall, Vincent D’Onofrio and Laura Dern, is impressive, but it’s Butler who stands out the most. As the down-but-never-out Hank, he once again shows an irresistible charisma and talent for playing strong, silent types that made Elvis and The Bikeriders must-watch movies. He’s the real deal, and he makes Caught Stealing worth catching.
