The Valley: Persian Style Trailer Teases MJ and Tommy’s Shocking Split
Shahs of Sunset fans were treated to a very special announcement during BravoCon 2025.
During the “Peaks & The Valley” panel on Friday, November 14, Bravo released the official trailer for The Valley: Persian Style featuring Reza Farahan, Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi and Mercedes “MJ” Javid.
“Oh it feels good to be back,” GG says in the sneak peek. “Did you miss me, baby?”
Without delay, the drama picks up as MJ and her husband, Tommy Feight, struggle to keep their marriage strong.
“I just don’t feel happy,” MJ tells her mom, Vida Javid, in a candid scene.
Vida replies, “You cannot teach an old monkey a new trick.”
In October, Us Weekly confirmed that MJ filed for divorce from Tommy after seven years of marriage. The Bravo star — who shares a 6-year-old son named Shams with Tommy — cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split and asked that neither party be awarded spousal support.
In a separate scene, Vida has a sit-down with her son-in-law where she admits MJ is “not happy.” Tommy responds, “Then she needs to get a divorce.”
Elsewhere in the trailer, Reza appears to be going through his own marital struggles with Adam Neeley.
“I need Adam to be more affectionate,” he says in one scene.
Meanwhile, GG appears to address her short marriage to close friend and business partner Dennis DeSantis. After saying “I do” in November 2024, the duo had their marriage annulled two weeks later. Now, GG finds herself picking up the pieces of a failed relationship.
Bravo describes The Valley: Persian Style as a series that follows a tight-knit group of Persian friends who have traded Beverly Hills for suburban life in the Valley.
“As they juggle marriages, parenthood and thriving careers, cracks in their relationships — both between lovers and friends — begins to emerge,” a press release states. “Rooted in their culture that values family, friendships and loyalty above everything else, emotions often take over as these fiery personalities navigate their highs, lows and everything in between.”
While viewers will recognize some Shahs of Sunset alumni, there are plenty of new faces joining The Valley: Persian Style.
Dynamic couple Tanin Nipkey and Greg Haroutunian find themselves at a crossroads as they try to find a way to rekindle their connection.
Sky Asakari and Bamshad Akbar discover that unsolved grudges block them from moving forward in their relationship and with certain friends.
Meanwhile, Natasha and Amir Boroumand are trying their best to bring grounded energy to their chaotic friend group.
One new cast member hoping to lighten the mood is resident charmer Reza Jackson. While looking to build his ties in the Persian community, the bachelor debates settling down or continuing his partying, playboy ways.
“In the last five years, a lot has happened,” MJ teases in the trailer while referencing the end of Shahs of Sunset in 2021. “We have kids now.”
GG, however, proves that some things never change when she gets riled up over a costar. As she proclaims, “I’m not the one, not the two, not the three, not the four, bitch.”
The Valley: Persian Style premieres on Bravo Thursday, January 8, at 9 p.m. ET. Stream episodes the next day on Peacock.
