Where Is DWTS’ Tony Dovolani Now? Inside His Post-Show Life
Tony Dovolani may have exited Dancing With the Stars in 2018, but he’s still keeping one toe dipped in the dancing world.
Dovolani, now 52, was cast as a pro dancer in 2006, joining the show in its second season where he was partnered with Stacy Keibler. The pair finished in third place.
He went on to compete for 20 additional seasons, partnering with a number of celebs, including Melissa Rycroft, Wendy Williams and Leah Remini. In 2012’s season 15, Dovolani and Rycroft won the all-star edition. He left the show six years later.
“When I decided to quit nothing major happened, it was just a build up of things where I just said, ‘I didn’t sign up for this,’” Dovolani said during an appearance on Hollywood Life’s podcast at the time. “For babysitting, maybe, a little bit. Some of these celebrities, or reality celebrities, I should say, they sometimes … they have an idea of what they think they are and who they are, and they didn’t realize that I wasn’t there to deal with them. I was there to teach them how to dance. So, when it becomes about other than teaching them how to dance, I want no part of it.”
He continued, “For me, it’s like when it comes to reality stars, I mean the word itself explains it: reality star. Which means that you’re an interesting individual, character maybe… like the villain or somebody that you like. For me, I respect talent. I respect hard work.”
At the time, Dovolani shared that he was keeping an open mind about potentially coming back to the show one day.
“That door will never close for me because DWTS has meant so much to me and my family in general — but now that, [I don’t think there’s a] spring show, and if they do it once a year it might be a possibility,” he told Closer Weekly in 2018. “For me, it was very difficult having three kids, for me to be away six months a year. If that ends up happening, and they are interested in me going back, I would be more than happy to do it.”
Dovolani did return to the stage in 2023 alongside several current and former pros to honor late judge Len Goodman, who died at age 78 after a battle with prostate cancer. After news broke of Goodman’s death earlier that year, Dovolani paid tribute to the late judge.
“I have no words RIP my brother we will one day play golf again in heaven,” he wrote via Instagram, alongside a black-and-white photo of Goodman.
Outside of the DWTS ballroom, Dovolani became an international dance director at Fred Astaire Dance Studios
Tony is also a dedicated father to his and wife Lina Dovolani’s three children: daughter Luana and twins Adrian and Ariana, whom they welcomed in 2005 and 2008, respectively.
“Happy birthday to my beautiful wife,” Tony wrote via Instagram in 2024. “The kids and I are the luckiest. You are a vision for sore eyes. The kids and I wish for all your dreams to come true.”
