Jenna Bush Hager Dumped a College BF Because He ‘Fit’ in Her Jeans

Jenna Bush Hager revealed the surprising reason she broke up with a former flame.

Bush Hager, 43, opened up about dating a “skinny fella” who was the same size as her while chatting with her guest cohost Willie Geist on the Thursday, October 9, episode of Today With Jenna & Friends.

The daytime star reflected on her short-lived romance with a college fling, noting she was “getting ready for class [and] he put on my jeans and they fit,” Bush Hager shared, admitting their breakup was imminent ever since that moment.

“And that was the beginning of the end,” she quipped. “I was like, ‘Oh, I can’t be bigger than you.’”

Jenna ended up meeting her husband, Henry Hager, during the 2004 presidential campaign when her dad, George W. Bush was running for reelection against John Kerry. The duo tied the knot in 2008 and later welcomed three kids together: daughters Mila, 12, Poppy, 10, and son Hal, 6.

This isn’t the first time Jenna has brought up style on Today. In June, she got her hair cut live on the show and followed in guest host Leslie Bibb’s footsteps with her White Lotus bob.

At the end of the episode, the ladies brought out Chris McMillan, who is the mastermind behind Jennifer Aniston’s famous “Rachel” haircut on Friends, and also responsible for Bibb’s bob, to chop Jenna’s tresses.

As he started snipping her hair, Bibb, 51, told fans at home, “Tomorrow you’ll see the full look.”

”You’re such a badass, you’re cool. I love this,” Bibb encouraged Jenna. She then handed Jenna a chopped strand, to which the TV personality replied, “Whoa, that’s so short.”

Jenna also warned that one of her little ones advised against the big cut. “My daughter was like, ‘Mom don’t do it,’” she said. “‘You’re gonna regret it.’”

McMillan, 58, then reassured Jenna that her look was going to be “modern and sexy.”

The following day, Jenna debuted her new ‘do, along with her children’s brutal reaction to the style.

“I don’t like it,” Mila said without holding back. Poppy, for her part, agreed. “Why would you do that?” she questioned.

Bibb, who was still serving as a guest host at the time, then chimed in and quipped, “Are those real tears? Your children are monsters. They started crying!”

Jenna pointed out that her kids were “fake crying,” which is their strange version of “love language.”

Although her kids weren’t a fan of her new hairstyle, Jenna revealed that Henry, 47, told her that she looked “hot.”

Bibb first got her haircut, which she labeled a “c**** little bob,” ahead of filming season 3 of The White Lotus in March.

McMillan explained that he cut “straight across, slightly angled [and] longer in the front.”

He also highlighted that having a consistent haircut was important to maintain a fresh feel on a TV show, so a simplistic look was perfect for her character, Kate Bohr.

He noted that since it’s so short, it won’t get messy in Thailand’s humidity, where the show was being filmed. McMillan gushed, “I think we nailed it, and then we also created a kind of iconic look.”
