Meghan Markle Wears Affordable La Ligne Jeans on As Ever’s Instagram

Meghan Markle‘s latest Instagram post for As Ever showed her embracing the quiet luxury trend in an easy-to-copy high-low look that included pieces at a similarly accessible price point.
On Tuesday, March 18, Markle, 43, shared a candid photo on social media of herself doing some gardening at her home in Montecito, California, while clad in her trusty blues by La Ligne.
The “Molly” jeans retail for $195, and Markle has been known to wear them on repeat. Several of the brand’s denim silhouettes and washes are featured throughout her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. She sports them while running errands, practicing flower arranging and entertaining.
The Duchess of Sussex demonstrated that you don’t need high-end designer jeans to exude a relaxed yet refined vibe. She paired her jeans with a casual-chic white scoop-neck tank top.
To lend her look a touch of breezy elegance, she layered her top with a lightweight white linen button-down shirt, the sleeves of which were rolled up for an additional oh-so-effortless feel.
Meanwhile, those with a green thumb will also appreciate that in her latest Instagram post, Markle carried a SunnyTong copper watering can, which can be found on Amazon for $22. It would look just as good in the backyard as it would an eye-catching piece of home decor.
To complete her classic denim-and-shirt combo (a foolproof pairing famously also beloved by the late Princess Diana, lest you forget) with a wide-brim straw “Serena” hat by Janessa Leoné ($395), serving as further proof that her new “Montecito Meghan” look is all about high-low style.
In fact, Us Weekly chronicled this sartorial phenomenon by breaking down every high-low look she wore in With Love, Meghan. This included insider-favorite labels like La Ligne, as well as more familiar brands, from Zara to J.Crew, Banana Republic to Ralph Lauren and even Crocs.
Similar to the “Kate Effect,” which refers to the immediate and direct impact that the outfits that Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, chooses have on the economy and the fashion industry as a whole, the “Meghan Effect” shows no signs of slowing down.
Quite the contrary: A new Launchmetrics report showed that Loro Piana earned $1 million in media impact value after Markle styled the label’s oatmeal sweater ($1,325) with a pair of white pleated Zara pants ($109) in the second episode of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. The high-low look even caused Markle’s guest star, the actress and comedian Mindy Kaling, to gasp.
What’s more, in a new cover story for Variety, published on Wednesday, March 19, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos pointed out the undeniable power of Meghan Markle, particularly concerning her forthcoming lifestyle brand.
“We’re a passive partner in Meghan’s company, and it’s a big discovery model for us right now,” Sarandos told the publication. “I think Meghan is underestimated in terms of her influence on culture. When we dropped the trailer for the Harry & Meghan doc series [in 2022], everything on-screen was dissected in the press for days.”
Sarandos continued: The shoes she was wearing sold out all over the world. The Hermès blanket that was on the chair behind her sold out everywhere… People are fascinated with Meghan Markle.”
Ultimately, her spring gardening look serves as a powerful reminder that achieving a polished, “quiet luxury” aesthetic isn’t about over-the-top spending but discerning choices, classic basics layered thoughtfully and accessorizing with pieces that reflect personal style and practicality.
As always (or ever!), we’ll be on the lookout for more high-low looks on Markle’s Instagram account and, of course, when season 2 of her new Netflix series (which has already wrapped filming) arrives.
