Justin Bieber’s Posts That Are Concerning Fans: A Timeline

Justin Bieber’s social media activity has been raising eyebrows among concerned fans.

In January, Bieber sent his fans into a stress spiral when he stopped following his wife, Hailey, on Instagram. Hours later, Bieber set the record straight, clarifying that he wasn’t the one to stop keeping up with his wife. “Someone went on my account and unfollowed my wife,” he wrote via his Instagram Story at the time. “S— is getting suss out here.”

One month later, Bieber made headlines when he shared a cryptic message about age. Amid concern for the musician’s well-being, Bieber’s rep told TMZ that rumors about him using hard drugs are “absolutely not true” and called the speculation “exhausting and pitiful.” Days after the rep shut down rumors, Bieber shared a video of himself rapping about being “high” and uploaded a clip of him smoking.

Despite speculation about his behavior, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that Bieber is “happier than he’s been in a long time” adding that “there’s no breakdown.” The insider noted that Bieber “just really doesn’t care what people think.”

January 21

Justin’s account unfollowed Hailey on Instagram, which he later clarified he didn’t do.

February 20

Bieber shared a message about maturing via his Instagram Story. “It’s time to grow up … Changing is about letting go,” the post read, in part. “You don’t work to mature … You let go to mature.”

“The weight isn’t on me to change … The weight is on God. So I give all my insecurities and my fears to him this morning,” the post continued. “Because I know he gladly takes it. Asking Jesus to genuinely help me with simply the next step today.”

February 23

Bieber’s rep told TMZ that the rumors about Bieber’s mental health and alleged drug use “shows that despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive.”

February 25

Bieber video-taped himself wide-eyed as he mouthed the lyrics, “I fly high like a magpie / I go high like I’m that guy.”

February 27

Bieber poked fun at the drug use rumors by sharing a video via Instagram Story of smoking what appeared to be a joint. Don Toliver’s “Attitude” played in the background of the clip.

March 3

Bieber uploaded a series of Instagram photos of himself riding on a bicycle while blowing out smoke and holding a bong in his hands.

March 13

The musician opened up about life in the public eye. “People told me my whole life, ‘Wow Justin, u deserve that’ and I personally have always felt unworthy,” Bieber wrote via his Instagram Story. “Like I was a fraud. Like when people told me I deserve something, it made me feel sneaky, like, damn if they only knew my thoughts. How judgmental I am, how selfish I really am. They wouldn’t be saying this.”

He continued, “I say all this to say if you feel sneaky, welcome to the club. I definitely feel unequipped and unqualified most days.”

March 16

Bieber shared a glimpse of his mindset. “I was always told when I was a kid not to hate,” he wrote via his Instagram Story. “But it made me feel like I wasn’t allowed to have it and so I didn’t tell anyone I’ve had it.”

He continued, “Which made me feel like like [sic] I have been drowning feeling unsafe to acknowledge it. I think we can only let hate go by first acknowledging it’s there. How couldn’t we feel hate from all of the hurt we have experienced?”

March 17

Bieber appeared to pen a message to his haters. “If they aren’t talking s—,” Bieber wrote via his Instagram Story. “U must not be goin brazy [sic] enough.” He set the post to Chris Brown and Young Thug’s track “Go Crazy.”
