Jesse Tyler Ferguson Texted Wells Adams About Kanye, Bianca at Grammys

Wells Adams was fielding texts from one of wife Sarah Hyland’s Modern Family costars as Kanye West and Bianca Censori walked the 2025 Grammy Awards red carpet.

“Jesse Tyler Ferguson was the one who texted me about it,” Adams, who was a correspondent for E! at the awards show, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting his partnership with JCPenny. “He was just like, ‘Are you seeing this?’ And I was like, ‘No.’ I thought that was really that’s who it was that texted me about that.”

West, 47, and Censori, 30, turned heads at the Sunday, February 2, event when they arrived on the red carpet and she unveiled a sheer dress that bared all. After their entrance, a source confirmed to Us that the couple exited “on their own accord,” adding, “They just got in their car and left.” (West’s track “Carnival” was nominated for Best Rap Song at the show, but Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” won the award.)

“He never walked by us, but like my producer was, like, ‘Apparently he’s not been invited and they’re escorting him out.’ And I’m like, ‘Wait, what?’” Adams, 40, recalled. “Also, can you be escorted out if you’re Kanye West? I feel like you should be invited to the Grammys, no? But I mean, his date was naked, so.”

Adams, who had been a radio host in Nashville before attempting to find love on The Bachelor franchise, gushed that being a correspondent on the red carpet was “really fun.” (After his stint in Bachelor Nation, Adams tied the knot with Hyland, 34. He has been a bartender for the past several seasons of Bachelor in Paradise.)

“It felt like a return to what I got my degree for,” Adams said. “I hope I get the opportunity to do it again.”

While Adams had the chance to speak with several talented musicians on the red carpet, there was one star that stood out to him.

“Benson Boone was my favorite interview. He was so fun and cool to be around. We talked about our chest hair together,” Adams said. “He gave me some workout tips and I asked him about his back flips because he does that all the time. He’s like, acrobatic. I turned into my grandmother. I was like, ‘You need to be careful!’ And then I’m watching the show and he is like doing back flips. I’m like, ‘Geez Louise, man.’ This guy’s badass.”

When he’s not gushing over his musical idols, Adams can be found working with JCPenny on a Valentine’s Day gift guide.

“When people think about me, they think about people falling in love. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and I wanted to team up with someone who would help me be able to do a green flag gift guide — ’cause I feel like the past couple years have all been about red flags and beige flags, but can we just have some good options and good decisions?” he said. “This green flag guide is stuff you can pick up at JCPenney for Valentine’s Day. It’s a crazy stat, but 6 million people get engaged on Valentine’s Day, which seems a little on the nose, but you do you! And if you are gonna get engaged, I didn’t realize that JCPenney had this amazing jewelry section, but I found this one engagement ring that looked almost exactly like the one that I got Sarah. But the difference was the diamonds are lab diamonds, which are ethically and sustainably sourced, which is something important to me. Clarity and beauty wise, they are exactly the same. And it is so much cheaper than other diamonds.”
