Eagles’ Saquon Barkley Engaged to Anna Congdon Before 2025 Super Bowl

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is going into the 2025 Super Bowl as a fiancé!

Barkley, 27, confirmed to People in an interview published on Sunday, February 2, that he recently proposed to girlfriend Anna Congdon.

“I can’t be the athlete I am and have the success I have [so far] in my career without the help of her,” Barkley gushed of his “amazing fiancée” to the outlet. “She’s been super helpful and always has my back, not only in football but throughout life there’s a lot that goes on.”

He added, “So, we continue to grow and mature and go through life together, we continue getting closer and continue to get even better.”

Barkley and Congdon, 26, have been together since 2017, welcoming daughter Jada and son Saquon Jr. in 2018 and 2022, respectively.

“It’s a beautiful thing because we have two amazing children,” Barkley added to People. “We just sit back and laugh sometimes when they’re over there playing and just smile and think about where everything started.”

Barkley, who signed with the Eagles in 2024 after leaving the New York Giants, is now gearing up for his first Super Bowl. The Philly-based team won the NFC Championship late last month, securing a spot in Super Bowl LIX against reigning champions the Kansas City Chiefs.

Congdon and the couple’s two children were on hand to celebrate Barkley’s NFC conference title.

“If I could wrap my arms around this memory, I would,” she gushed via Instagram.

Barkley, meanwhile, replied, “Love you.”

Barkley, who celebrated with his family on the Lincoln Financial Field turf after the win, is also elated to step foot on this year’s Super Bowl field in New Orleans later this month.

“I ain’t going to lie. I tried to downplay it in my head, but it’s amazing,” he gushed to sideline reporter Erin Andrews. “It’s amazing we’re here, but the goal was just getting there. The goal is to win. We’re going to celebrate and enjoy this and get right back to work.”

Throughout Barkley’s NFL career, Congdon has been his No. 1 fan. The pair met as students at Penn State University, one year before he was drafted by the Giants.

“Who would’ve known that acting a little crazy on this day would lead to the start of what we have!! you have taught me so much in such a short period of time,” she wrote via Instagram on their first anniversary in January 2018. “Thank you for your wisdom, patience & understanding – you are truly one of a kind. your love is never taken for granted.”
