Jason Kelce Was Offered $100 to Say ‘Go Birds’ to Taylor Swift
Jason Kelce is laughing off the idea of cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles at the 2025 Super Bowl in front of brother Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
“We have seen for the last two years now, many times [the] Kansas City [Chiefs] score a touchdown, particularly if it’s your brother. Taylor Swift in the booth, she’s going crazy. The hugs are going all over the place. Goes viral,” Joe DeCamara recalled to Jason on the Thursday, January 30, episode of the 94WIP Morning Show. “$100 to you. [Eagles running back] Saquon Barkley scores a touchdown. You hug Taylor Swift and say, ‘Go birds!’”
Jason, 37, began laughing at the offer as others joked that the money must be “very tempting.” DeCamara continued explaining his idea, telling the former Eagles center, “I’m just saying, let her know the hammer says, ‘Go birds!’ By the way, the whole city of Philadelphia says, ‘Go birds!’”
Both DeCamara and Jason pointed out that Swift, 35, grew up a fan of the Eagles. (Before sparking a romance with the Chiefs tight end, Swift and her family rooted for the Philadelphia-based team.)
“She grew up here,” Jason said. “She knows that everybody’s cheering for this weekend. She’s obviously on the other side of it, but, yeah, no. It’s going to be fun. It’s gonna be fun being down there. …. I can’t wait until the game starts.”
The Eagles and the Chiefs are facing off in the 2025 Super Bowl on Sunday, February 9, at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome. If the Chiefs defeat the Eagles, the NFL team will become the first in history to win three consecutive Super Bowls. (The Chiefs won back-to-back Super Bowls in 2023 and 2024.)
Ahead of the matchup, Jason confirmed during an episode of his and Travis’ “New Heights” podcast that he will be rooting for both teams. (Jason played for the Eagles from 2011 until his retirement in 2024.)
“Obviously, you’re my brother. I’ll always root for my brother. That’s the reality of it. All right,” he said on the Wednesday, January 29, episode. “Even though I’m decked out in Eagles gear [at the moment], I’m always going to root for Travis.”
Jason noted that several people within the Eagles organization “feel like extended family to me,” adding, “No matter what on game day, I’m going to be happy for one of those sides and I’m going to be sad for the other side.”
He continued, “I would be lying if I said I don’t want the Eagles to win. You know what I mean? I want them to, but I also want Travis Kelce to win. So, that’s a long-winded way of saying I just want to see a good football game, and whoever wins, I’m going to be happy for that guy.”
