Gabrielle Union Denies Facelift Rumors and Credits This Hairstyle
Gabrielle Union got real about plastic surgery rumors.
Union, 52, shut down speculation that she had a facelift while chatting with People, sharing that one of her favorite hairstyles gives her a snatched effect. “You can’t be missing for six months to get a facelift — which I’ve never been missing for six months, get it right,” she said.
The actress credited a “high pony” for creating a lifted appearance. However, if she’s looking for a snatched neck effect, the Flawless co-founder said she relies on the low pony. “A high pony for a lady of a certain age is like a facelift,” she preached. “A high snatched pony is all you need — [and it] don’t cost you a thing.”
Union is known to rock a slicked-back coif while making red carpet appearances, most recently at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. At the time, her brunette mane was sectioned off with her crown pulled back and twisted into a bun. The rest of her hair was worn down and straightened.
The actress styled her updo with a gray floor-length dress featuring twisted straps and a fitted silhouette. Union accessorized with a diamond bracelet and a printed leather purse. She tied her look together with soft glam.
Union rocked another pulled-back hairdo at the Met Gala in May. Hairstylist and Flawless haircare co-founder Larry Sims helped create her shell-inspired “timeless yet futuristic” looks telling Essence that he wrapped her strands around a piece of Styrofoam.
“We knew we wanted to add a touch of [mermaid] to the hair, adorned with a starfish hair accessory,” Sims said. Union’s mermaidcore look didn’t stop there — she also sported a splashy gown by Michael Kors with scale-like details. Her dress featured a beaded design with a silver top that blended into a teal body and blue train.
