ASAP Rocky to Pass Video Game Collection to His and Rihanna’s Sons
ASAP Rocky has an extensive video game collection — and can’t wait to pass it down to his sons.
“I have a plethora of just different video games from different eras — from Nintendo to Sega to you f—ing name it,” Rocky, 36, told Us Weekly exclusively at the 38th Annual Footwear News Achievement Awards hosted at Casa Cipriani in New York City on Wednesday, December 4. “Even the bootleg knock-off ones.”
Rocky told Us that when RZA, 2, and Riot, 16 months, are older “they are gonna inherit all of that s—.”
The musician said that he does continue to “turn [the video games on] every now and then” to make sure they still work. “You play with the games and do it like that,” he added.
Rocky shares his two sons with longtime love Rihanna. The A-listers have been together since 2020 and welcomed RZA in May 2022. Months later, Rihanna announced that she was expecting her second baby while performing the Super Bowl halftime show in February 2023. Their son Riot was born in August 2023.
Rocky told Us about how he and Rihanna, 36, continue to support each other despite staying busy with their own careers.
“I don’t even think it’s a secret. I think that when you’re in love with somebody, you have to sacrifice time for people and stuff like that — make time,” he explained. “Some people are fortunate enough to make more time, and some people are fortunate enough to work together and travel together.”
During Wednesday’s event, Rocky took home a major fashion award — his second this week. (Rocky was awarded Cultural Innovator at the British Fashion Awards on Monday, December 2.)
He was bestowed the honor of Best Collaboration at the Annual Footwear News Achievement Awards for his work with Puma, and couldn’t help but honor Rihanna in his speech.
“This is just like one of the best accomplishments ever. I saw my lady receive this thing almost a decade ago. She inspires me a lot,” he said on Wednesday. “The thought of me being with Puma and making Collaboration of the Year, I mean, I didn’t even think that was really that possible and look at us now.”
Rihanna also couldn’t help but gush over his partner during the event.
“It feels incredible, I’m so proud,” the Fenty Beauty founder told WWD. “He’s been influencing the fashion world culturally for a very long time, and to see him being honored for it, it’s something that I can’t even put into words how proud I am. He deserves it, and it’s about time.”
