Selling the City Trailer Reveals Betrayal, Lawsuits, Listings in NYC

Selling the City is shaking up the big apple — and possibly shattering friendships — according to the show’s official trailer.

“I am a top real estate broker at Douglas Elliman, and I just had one of the biggest years of my career,” Eleonora Srugo says in the teaser, which dropped on Wednesday, December 4. “Now, I’m starting my own team.”

In the video, fans meet Eleonora’s small but mighty real estate group — as well as some of her fellow Douglas Elliman associates — comprised of Jade Chan, Taylor Middleton, Jordyn Taylor Braff, Abigail Godfrey, Gisselle Meneses-Núñez, Justin Tuinstra and Steve Gold.

They’re very lucky to have Eleonora, but I don’t think they’ll all make the cut,” Jade tells a group of people in the clip, hinting at drama right out the gate.

When Steve asks, “Do you think she’s a one-hit wonder?” Jade replies, “She just can’t get out of her own way.” Of course, neither realtor reveals who they’re talking about, which only adds to the intrigue.

Elsewhere in the trailer, Eleonora has a heart-to-heart with Jade, telling her, “It’s not me against you. It’s me and you against everybody else.”

Eleonora cries over the pressures of leading a group, but is adamant that her team — Taylor, Jordyn, Abigail and Gisselle — are her top priority.

“As much as I care about my business, what I want more than anything is to know that we are going to be united,” she tells the women during a meeting.

Between clips of the stars showing massive million dollar listings to New York City buyers, fans are able to catch a glimpse at the alliances forming within the group.

“Our team of five is family,” Abigail tells Gisselle. Eleonora, meanwhile, reveals, “Betrayal never comes from an enemy,” as footage of Jade arriving to film for the show plays in the background.

Jade vows, “I’m gonna hold all the cards in my deck until I f—ng explode.”

In the final moments of the trailer, Abigail yells at Jade asking, “Yes or no? Did you say it?” Jade rushes the camera, threatening, “If any of this s— airs, I will sue every single one of your asses!”

Netflix announced in May that Selling the City will be the latest Selling Sunset spinoff from the streaming giant. Selling Sunset premiered in 2019, following the lives of various Oppenheim Group realtors in the greater Los Angeles area.

Selling Tampa ran for just one season in 2021, focusing on Black-owned Allure Reality firm in Florida. Selling the OC premiered in 2022, highlighting the lives of the Oppenheim Group realtors in Orange County, California.

Ahead of Selling the City’s January premiere, Eleonora teased what’s to come.

“You see me on the show with diamonds and helicopters, but that’s not what it always was,” she told Netflix’s Tudum on Wednesday. “That’s actually an honor and a blessing that I get to experience based on years of hard work. In New York, we’re scrappy and dream big, and it’s nice to show that those dreams can come true, and they come true here.”

The New York native noted that Oppenheim Group’s Jason and Brett Oppenheim have been a “great source of support” during her journey with Netflix — but her spinoff will be different from the brothers’ shows.

“We’re a little grittier, and a woman is leading the team. The city also takes everything to another level,” Eleonora said. “There’s a really high barrier to entry in this market, and it makes it extraordinarily competitive.”

Selling the City premieres on Netflix Friday, January 3.
