Katie Sturino Reacts to Blake Lively’s Support for Recreating Look

Katie Sturino is thrilled to have Blake Lively as an ally.

“I’m such a fan of hers,” Sturino, 40, said in a Friday, November 15 interview with Page Six. “I think that she does incredible things for women.”

Sturino is a body acceptance advocate — in addition to being the founder of the personal care brand Megababe — who recreates celebrity fashion looks for people in the plus-size community with her Instagram series #SuperSizeTheLook. Last month, Sturino made a post of her take on one of Lively’s outfits the actress wore back in June during a night out in New York City.

“#SuperSizeTheLook @blakelively edition! Denim on Denim Goddess!” she captioned the October post. “Blake showing us the power of a denim trench 💙.”

Sturino included a side-by-side comparison of her and Lively’s matching looks, which featured a denim mini dress and matching trench coat.

“#SuperSizeTheLook helps to retrain your brain to see a picture of two women standing next to each other and not declare who wore it better,” she continued. “But that you can wear these looks at any size!”

Lively, 37, took to the comments section to gush over Sturino’s style.

“Stunning always 🔥 love this. Thank you for the honor,” the actress replied. “And I love your purse. Even though they don’t hold our phones I don’t care 🤩. It’s too cute.”

After seeing Lively’s message, Sturino confessed that she was “really excited” to see that Lively “took notice” of her recreated look.

While Lively has always been credited as a fashion icon, she made headlines earlier this year following backlash from her film It Ends With Us — which is based on the Colleen Hoover novel of the same name that follows a toxic relationship plagued by instances of domestic violence. As she promoted the film, Lively donned countless bright, floral looks in honor of her character, Lily Bloom, a florist.

Blake Lively’s fresh floral style during the It Ends With Us tour has taken over the internet — and we can’t get enough. While promoting It Ends With Us, which hits theaters on Friday, August 9, Lively has taken inspiration from her character, florist Lily Bloom, and rocked a number of flower-embellished designs, including vibrant […]

While speaking to the media about the movie, fans criticized the star for how she handled questions about the story’s portrayal of intimate partner violence and seemed to, instead, focus on fashion. Following the backlash, Lively took to social media to share a series of resources for those suffering from domestic violence.

Rumors swirled that Lively and Justin Baldoni, who directed and starred in It Ends With Us, feuded on set. Baldoni, 40, did not participate in group interviews with the rest of the cast. He also did not pose for photos with Lively and his costars at the premiere.

“There were two camps on the film — team Blake and team Justin,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly of the movie’s production in August. “This creative struggle set the tone for the negative experience behind the scenes and grew into them not speaking anymore.”
