Tracker’s Fiona Wants to Work With Justin Hartley’s Wife Sofia Pernas
Tracker fans aren’t the only ones who want Justin Hartley‘s wife, Sofia Pernas, to return to the show again in season 2.
During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Fiona Rene gushed about Pernas while discussing her efforts to get them to share the screen in a future episode.
“I can’t believe I haven’t talked about this. I love Sofia Pernas with everything in my body. She is such a boss,” Rene, 36, told Us. “It would be so fun to work with her. I have already said to the writers’ room that we need an episode together.”
Rene would love to see whether her character, Reenie, would get along with Pernas’ Billie, adding, “They’ll either be best friends or absolute enemies. They’re both so similar in many ways on how they don’t take any crap. So it would be fun to explore both sides. Of course I want Reenie and Billie to be together.”
Tracker, which premiered in February, is centered around a survivalist named Colter (Hartley) who travels the country helping people and law enforcement tackle a variety of mysteries. As the series unfolds, viewers learn more about how Colter’s past shaped his current life as a lone wolf who prefers to isolate himself from others.
Hartley’s role as the star and executive producer on the show has allowed him to bring some familiar faces along for the ride. In addition to collaborating with his wife, Melissa Roxburgh and Jensen Ackles were brought on to play members of Colter’s family.
“Reenie needs to meet Dory [played by Roxburgh]. Now that Reenie has met Russell [played by Ackles], I think Reenie also wants to meet some of the people that made Colter who he is,” Rene explained. “So not just his family, but Jennifer Morrison’s character as well. It would just be Reenie as a little sleuth. She would be like, ‘Were you always like this? Who were you 10 years ago? Let me meet those people.’”
Hartley, 47, previously made it clear that Pernas, 35, is set to return more after appearing in one episode earlier this season.
“She’s definitely coming back. We have some pretty cool stuff for her to do next year,” he told Deadline in May. “She’ll be back several times next year.We built this really great group of actors [who are] hopefully more than willing to come back, because we’d love to play more with them. We have a bunch of stories to tell with all [of them].”
Ahead of season 2, Hartley also explained how Ackles, 46, and Roxburgh, 31, would return to play his character Colter’s siblings despite their busy schedules. (After both being introduced in the first season, Ackles booked the upcoming Prime Video thriller series Countdown, while Roxburgh is set to lead the NBC midseason drama The Hunting Party.)
“[Melissa]’s show ends [production] way before we end so we can bring her back in the latter episodes of our show,” the actor noted to TV Insider in September,. “And then Jennifer Morrison‘s coming back to direct episode 6. I’m sure her character will be back.”
Rene, for her part, is also excited about how season 2 will expand on Reenie’s story.
“Obviously we’re building on Colter’s relationships and what he’s able to do. We are getting to see more of him. But then for Reenie, we’re seeing her identity without Colter,” she teased to Us. “Before it was like, ‘Who is she? What was her relationship to him? Who was she alongside him? How could she help him?’ And even though all those things are still true, now we’re seeing Reenie. Who is she and what’s her life and what’s she interested in and where is she in her life?”
Tracker airs on CBS on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Paramount+.
