Late Soccer Star Holden Trent Was Getting Married in 419 Days

Late Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Holden Trent is survived by his fiancée Brianna Losito, whom he was set to marry in 419 days.

Trent and Losito were planning to tie the knot on December 20, 2025, according to an official wedding website. The ceremony was scheduled at the William Aiken House in Charleston, South Carolina.

News broke less than one year earlier on Saturday, October 26, that Trent had suddenly died at age 25.

“We want to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Holden passed away this afternoon surrounded by his family and friends,” a statement shared via Trent’s Instagram page read. “Details on services and celebration of life are forthcoming. Our family is deeply touched to see and experience the love you all have for Holden.”

Hollywood mourned many celebrities in 2024. Speed Racer star Christian Oliver (born Christian Klepser) died at the age of 51 during a fatal plane crash on January 5. Oliver was traveling home from a Caribbean vacation with his two daughters — Madita and Annik, whom he shared with wife Jessica Klepser — on January 4. […]

Trent is survived by his family and Losito. The pair started dating in 2019 and got engaged three years later.

“Siri, what’s yes in Italian?” Losito captioned an Instagram post in December 2023, sharing photos from Trent’s proposal in Florence.

Losito, who currently has a private social media account, has not publicly addressed Trent’s death.

Trent’s Philadelphia Union team, meanwhile, issued a lengthy memorial statement.

“The Philadelphia Union is devastated by the heartbreaking passing of Holden Trent. While he was a wonderful player and fierce competitor, he was more importantly a devoted son, brother, fiancé, and teammate who made those around him better,” a statement shared via the team website reads. “He embodied the true meaning of determination, dedication and perseverance, and he will be deeply missed.”

The message concluded, “We extend our greatest sympathies to his family, his fiancée and his friends. Out of respect to Holden’s friends and family, there will be no further statements at this time and ask that their privacy is respected as they grieve.”

Other MLS stars paid tribute to Trent’s legacy.

“Rest well my brother ❤️,” Damion Lowe wrote via Instagram comment.

Gabriel Perrotta, for his part, penned, “Rest in peace Holden! Sending prayers to the family.”

A cause of death has not been publicly shared, though Delaware County’s Daily Times newspaper recently reported that Trent was hospitalized in intensive care for an undisclosed medical issue. It is not presently known whether the health scare led to his death.

Trent completed his Philadelphia Union season one week earlier. He was drafted in 2023 after playing soccer at High Point University.

“It’s been a good month🙏🏻,” he captioned a February 2023 Instagram photo of himself holding up his Union No. 13 jersey in the stadium.
