Andy Cohen Reacts to Jennifer Aydin’s Claim About RHONJ Casting
Sorry, Real Housewives of New Jersey fans, no casting decisions have been made just yet — despite Jennifer Aydin’s claims.
Bravo boss Andy Cohen appeared baffled with recent reports — and an Instagram Live from Jennifer, 47, herself — seemingly confirmed that she, along with Teresa Giudice and Dolores Catania, would be headed back to RHONJ.
“We’ve made no decisions on The Real Housewives,” Andy, 56, stated during SiriusXM’s “Radio Andy” on Wednesday, October 16. His cohost, John Hill, noted that the trio “appeared in a photo together” and speculated that “maybe they [the fans] jumped to conclusions.”
“They appeared in a photo together?” Andy declared. “Well, I mean, I was in a photo with freaking Madonna.”
John then brought up Jennifer’s Instagram Live from this past weekend.
“What? No. Jennifer Aydin confirmed that she’s returning?” Andy said. “No, no, no. We’ve done nothing. We’ve done absolutely — I mean, well, no. Actually, we’ve done plenty, but that’s not, that’s not, no.”
He continued: “I wish her well. I think wait until Bravo or I says something. How about that?”
Andy called it a “bold” move from the Bravo star before moving on.
Rumors have continued to swirl about the future of RHONJ ahead of the forthcoming 15th season. The show’s stars were divided ahead of the season 14 finale this past August, which led to an untraditional reunion. (In lieu of the normal reunion setup, the women were split in half as they watched the finale and reacted in real time.)
Following the reunion, Melissa Gorga stated that she’s “fully prepared for anything” involving the show going forward.
“I am prepared for anything at this point, obviously, because of all the rumors that are out there,” she said during an August appearance on the “Two T’s in a Pod” podcast. Melissa, 45, was directly referencing the ongoing feud between herself and sister-in-law Teresa Giudice. (The duo did not speak directly for the entirety of season 14.)
“I think I would realize that her and I are two extremely different characters, so to speak, on the show,” Melissa shared on the podcast. “So, if Bravo decides to go that route and kind of, like, the darker route, then I need to say that is not a show that I want to be on anyway.”
She continued: “I do not want to be on that toxic s—. As long as you know she is there and that whole thing would come back, I wouldn’t find it as a loss.”
