Brynn Whitfield Says ‘Friendships and Relationships Change’ on RHONY

The Real Housewives of New York City season 15 will feature plenty of twists and turns, according to Brynn Whitfield.

“I think [fans] can expect a lot of change. I think, honestly, it’s like, episode to episode,” the reality star, 36, exclusively told Us Weekly at the New York City Ballet Fall Fashion Gala on Wednesday, October 9. “You’re going to see friendships and relationships change. Alliances change.”

Brynn acknowledged that her comments sounded “so dramatic,” but she asserted it was the correct choice of words.

“You’ll see ebbs and flows. I’ve watched the first two episodes, and in several episodes, there are people that I’m fighting with then that I’m friends with now,” Brynn said. “You know, it’s filmed over a long period of time, and these are real friendships, so things happen, and then things don’t happen.”

Brynn joined the rebooted version of RHONY last season with a brand-new crop of Housewives, including Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, Sai de Silva, Erin Lichy and Ubah Hassan. Art curator Racquel Chevremont and fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff received their own apples for season 15, which premiered earlier this month.

While Brynn didn’t reveal which fellow Housewives she’s on better terms with now, she added that it’s difficult to relive the now-defunct feuds as the episodes air on Bravo.

“That’s the hardest part of it. It happened a long time ago,” she told Us at the gala, which was held at New York City’s Lincoln Center. “Now going back to rewatch it, you kind of get mad again about the stuff that you thought you were done with. It’s a lot.”

Brynn has even contemplated taking a breather from watching the next RHONY episodes.

“I think I might stop,” she said. “I was like, ‘This is kind of getting to be a lot, especially the first two episodes.’ I was crying, and I was like, ‘This is sad.’ It’s hard to see things said about you that you didn’t know were said at the time.”

The Real Housewives of New York City premiered in 2008, but not every Housewife has gone the distance. The season 1 cast of RHONY included Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Bethenny Frankel, Jill Zarin and Alex McCord. While Kelly Killoren Bensimon joined the cast during season 2, Sonja Morgan became a full-time cast member during […]

It was particularly difficult for Brynn to relieve the moment when Jessel, 44, accused her of making up a story. (In the premiere episode, Brynn initially told Jessel and Jenna, 56, that Erin, 37, allegedly called the former J.Crew designer “poor” when she did not pay her back for the cost of an Uber ride when Jenna’s car broke down leaving the Hamptons.)

“When Jessel was like, ‘Brynn fabricated a story about the silly Jenna Uber thing.’ She’s like, ‘Oh, I don’t remember it and Brynn exaggerates stories,’” Brynn said. “I literally sent her an angry text. I was like, ‘You were on my couch. You were there at this one.’ And then she’s like, ‘Dude, chill. It’s fine.’ And you’re like, ‘OK, OK, OK.’ … It was six months ago, and you don’t even remember the conversation. I don’t remember what I did yesterday, let alone six months ago. So, it’s like a blast from the past.”

The Real Housewives of New York City airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
