3 Underrated Hulu Movies to Watch This Weekend (April 4-6)

A lot of people love 1993’s Jurassic Park, while plenty of people hate its sequel, 1997’s The Lost World. But Jurassic Park III is neither liked nor loathed — it’s just ignored. Yet the second sequel to Steven Spielberg’s dinosaur adventure has its B-movie charms, and Sam Neill makes an all-too-welcome return to the series as heroic paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant.

He’s reluctantly drawn back to Isla Sorna by a rich couple, Paul and Amanda Kirby (William H. Macy and Téa Leoni), who offer to fund his scientific research in exchange for a guided tour of the now-defunct dinosaur park. Of course, things don’t go according to plan, and soon, Alan must ward off dangerous Velociraptors and lethal Pteranodons to protect the Kirbys and find a way off the island.

Jurassic Park III doesn’t have the awe and grandeur of the original nor does it have the elaborate setpieces of the sequel trilogy. Instead, the movie’s no-frills thrills and compact runtime (it’s only 92 minutes long) make it a perfectly enjoyable movie that doesn’t overstay its welcome.
