3 New Netflix Shows to Watch in December 2025, Ranked by IMDb Rating

November saw some fantastic additions to the Netflix TV library.

There are plenty of exciting new series coming up in December, such as Castle Rock and The Abandons. But Watch With Us wants to highlight shows added over the past month that you need to check out now.

This month, our picks include the hit Netflix original show The Beast in Me, the prematurely cancelled Minx and the great British crime drama Broadchurch.

Read our picks, and see where they placed on IMDb’s rankings.

3. ‘The Beast in Me’ (2025)

IMDb rating: 7.5

Famed author Aggie Wiggs (Claire Danes) is still reeling from her young son’s death and subsequent divorce from her wife, and has holed up in her mansion. While wrestling to write her next book, she finds her new next-door neighbor to be a surprising source of inspiration. Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys) was once the lead suspect in his wife’s disappearance, and at his own request, Wiggs begins writing about him. But Wiggs finds herself beginning to question whether she is now the one in danger.

The Beast in Me has been hailed as a supremely addictive crime thriller, anchored by the performances from Danes and Rhys, who showcase some great chemistry together. Viewers are left guessing with every episode throughout the compelling mystery narrative — unsurprising, as the show is helmed by the creatives who brought you shows like The X-Files and Homeland.

2. ‘Minx’ (2022-2023)

IMDb rating: 7.6

In 1970s LA, Joyce Prigger (Ophelia Lovibond) is a recently graduated feminist with big dreams of launching a women-focused magazine. However, no one will take her seriously, and no publisher wants to go in on her political publication called The Matriarchy Awakens. But when an adult entertainment publisher decides to back her, she combines feminist writing with porn — creating the first erotic magazine for women. This ensues a partnership between Joyce and the lovably sleazy Doug Renetti (Jake Johnson).

Though Minx was unceremoniously axed by first HBO Max and then Starz, it received positive reviews from critics and audiences. Ultimately, the show is a fantastic genre hybrid with smart social satire and great characters. Plus, the series is hugely unique for a crucial reason: it goes all in on full-frontal male nudity.

1. ‘Broadchurch’ (2013-2017)

IMDb rating: 8.3

In the tight-knit community of Broadchurch in Dorset, United Kingdom, a young boy turns up dead, and suddenly the quiet town is thrust into the spotlight and a police investigation. Local Detective Sergeant Ellie Miller (Olivia Colman) is passed over for the role of Detective Inspector for an out-of-towner named Alec Hardy (David Tennant), but together the two must solve the crime. As the investigation unfolds, Broadchurch depicts the effects of unwanted media attention on the town and the grieving family.
