1000-Lb. Sisters’ Tammy, Amy Slaton Discover Royal Connection: Preview
1,000-Lb. Sisters stars Tammy Slaton and Amy Slaton are ready to receive some family tea during their London vacation.
In Us Weekly’s exclusive sneak peek at the Tuesday, December 10, episode of TLC’s hit series, the Slaton family packs their bags and heads across the pond to meet with a genealogist.
“Now that the genealogist is here, hopefully we can put this myth to rest about being kin to the Queen of England,” Chris Combs says in a confessional interview, “because I think that’s the biggest crock of s— I’ve ever heard in my life.”
Before Chris gets too confident in his predictions, the genealogist arrives with some unexpected findings.
“I have a great story to tell you,” the professional expert begins. “In order to come back to family here [in London], we had to go almost 500 years back. One of your ancestors was a guy called Sir. Thomas Clark, born 1520s.”
Because there was a “sir” in the name, the genealogist believes that this specific individual was likely a knight.
“Finding out that there’s a knight in the family is cool as s—,” Chris shares. “I’ve always wanted to put on a real knight’s armor and walk/clank around. It could be a rusty one. I don’t give a damn.”
Before getting too excited, Tammy, 38, has one question that could result in another OMG moment: Does Sir Thomas Clark give the Slaton family a connection to the royal family?
“We haven’t found it yet, but to be a knight back then, he probably came from nobility,” the genealogist reveals. “At some point a couple of generations back, there may well have been royalty.”
While fans will have to tune in to hear more results, Amy, 37, tries to play it cool when sharing her first impression.
“I knew we had some big heads for a reason,” she joked to her sister, to which Tammy replied, “Speak for yourself.”
During the trip, Tammy and Amy are also joined by their siblings, Amanda and Misty. At one point in the visit, the family sightsees on a bus and get off when it passes by Buckingham Palace.
In addition, the Slaton crew will experiment with some of London’s most famous dishes including the classic dessert known as spotted dick.
